Life is not always easy to get right! We only get one chance, and it is often the way that we spend our time doing things we wish we weren’t; so how do we get the most out of our time when we need to earn money to survive?
We all need to earn money somehow in order to support our lifestyles, and he amount depends on the amount we need to pay out. Some people enjoy the materialistic things in life, and therefore need to earn large amounts of money in order to pay for this. Others are happier with a simpler life, but still need to earn a certain amount to keep food on the table. One of the most important things to consider, is what are you going to be spending the most amount of time doing? Choosing a career that you enjoy doing is part of the battle. If you are an animal lover, and nothing would give you more pleasure than working with animals all day every day, then maybe it is worth doing a job like this even if it has less pay than another job.
There is nothing worse and more depressing for people over time, than spending day after day working in a job they hate. It leads to all sorts of stress problems and is just not what you want to end up doing. Understandably this is the way things work out sometimes, as there is no getting away from needing to pay the rent and pay for other necessities, and unfortunately not everyone can get their dream job.
If this is the case, you need to be able to balance your time and your mind well in order to fully enjoy your time away from work. If you struggle to switch off, and have a stressful job, then it is all too easy to let this affect your home life; this is when people become most unhappy. If you are able to separate work issues from home life then you will eliminate the amount of time you feel stressed out by a large amount.
Another thing that will reduce stress levels is to try and view things in a more positive way. For instance; if you have to dig a long trench, you could spend all day thinking about how much you dislike the task in hand, and you will have a miserable time doing it. But if you change your attitude and think, well I have to dig the trench, but it will get me a little fitter, and it does let me spend a day outside in the fresh air; then you will spend the day in a more positive mood and it won’t seem as bad. This can be practiced in all sorts of situations, and makes a big difference.
