Wounds from Your Past

by Alyssa Ast

There are certain moments in your life, some big and some small, that leave you wounded. Even after those wounds have healed, the scars are left, leaving a permanent impact on who you are. Often, these wounds from your past go unnoticed but play a huge role in who you are and how you live your life. Often, when we least expect it, these scars reappear and are often the force behind why you make some the choices in life. Although it's hard, you can overcome these wounds from your past and allow the scars to fully heal, changing yourself and your life in the process.

The first step to overcoming these wounds, is to realize they are there and what caused them. Taking the time to evaluate how these wounds play a role in your life, even years after they have occurred, allows you to set forth a path to move past them.

Wounds from your past don't have to control your life or define you. After you allow these wounds to fully heal and choose to let go, the scars left behind will continue to fade until they are no longer a blemish on your existence.
